Hereke is a unique weaving center located about 70 kms away from Istanbul. Hereke Fabrikai Humayun was established in 1843. At the time it was the largest such manufactory for silk fabric and carpets in the Ottoman Empire. For centuries, hand knotted carpets made of lamb's wool were produced in the village of Hereke. Today, Hereke is recognized for producing the finest hand knotted carpets in the world. We have a short sightseeing in Hereke, visiting a museum, lunch and show room.
